SUMMARY:New AQuESTT Calculator @ ESU7
DESCRIPTION:ESU 7 will host this training with Dr. Derek Ippensen on the
new AQuESTT Calculator\, a powerful tool designed to help schools use the

to move from reacting to results to strategically forecasting and planni
ng for success. There is no cost for this event and their will be no stip

SUMMARY:Intensive Teaching of Verbal Behavior
DESCRIPTION:This training was developed to help support teams who are cur
rently serving at least one student with autism or other developmental di
sability\, with complex needs. When possible\, it works best when team me
mbers attend this training together\, having identified a student for who
m they are developing an individualized program. \nTeam members can inclu
 de: Teachers\, speech/language pathologists\, resource specialists\, scho
ol psychologists\, occupational therapists\, physical therapists\, and ot
her professionals. Teams will be given registration priority over individ
uals with a limited number of seats available in this training.\n\nDescri
ption: “Designing and implementing high-quality programs for individuals
with severe disabilities can be a daunting task for both the novice and e
 xperienced teacher.” (ALCOT\, 2018). During this two-day training\, parti
cipants will learn strategies to aid their ability in instructing learner
s with complex needs in the areas of verbal skills\, following directions
\, imitation\, and social interactions. Evidence-based strategies include
: errorless teaching\, error correction procedures\, and use of motivatio
n and reinforcement. We will identify and prioritize skills to teach and
how to set goals and objectives that are data-driven. The trauma-informed
methods prioritize safety and positive relationships with students to ma
ke peaceful progress toward greater learner outcomes.

SUMMARY:Increasing Safety\, Dignity\, and Joy Across the Day: Universal P
 rotocols in School Contexts
DESCRIPTION:Universal Protocols: Building Safe\, Compassionate\, and Effe
ctive School Environments\nThe Universal Protocols (UniPro) are a set of
evidence-based\, trauma-assumed strategies designed to stabilize severe b
ehavior while long-term\, skill-based interventions are developed and imp
lemented. The primary goal of the Universal Protocols is to increase safe
ty for students\, peers\, and school personnel by reducing the likelihood
of escalation to dangerous behavior\, while simultaneously strengthening
relationships between students\, staff\, and the school environment.\nTh
e seven components of the Universal Protocols are designed to increase st
udent joy and engagement\, prevent escalation by addressing common trigge
rs and reinforcing early signs of distress\, build safe and trusting rela
tionships\, and improve staff confidence and job satisfaction. When imple
mented with fidelity\, the Universal Protocols can significantly reduce s
tudent and staff injuries and minimize the need for restrictive or physic
al management procedures.\nThis highly interactive training will provide
participants with opportunities to actively apply concepts through guided
  activities\, collaborative discussions\, and real-world examples. Partic
ipants will complete sections of the Universal Protocols (UniPro) Workboo
k throughout the training\, creating resources that can be applied immedi
ately in their schools and classrooms. Attendees will also hear case stud
ies and implementation stories from Nebraska schools that have successful
ly utilized the Universal Protocols to support students with complex beha
 vioral needs.\nLearning Objectives\nParticipants will be able to:\nDescri
be the seven elements of the Universal Protocols.\nIdentify examples of e
ach Universal Protocol component in practice.\nDistinguish between genera
l and individualized versions of the Universal Protocols.\nComplete key s
ections of a Universal Protocols Workbook to support implementation plann
ing.\nAnalyze Nebraska-based case studies demonstrating successful implem
entation of the Universal Protocols.\nDescribe a process for developing\,
implementing\, and scaling Universal Protocols across an organization.\n
Explain how the Universal Protocols fit within a comprehensive service de
livery system.\nIdentify measures that can be used to evaluate the impact
of the Universal Protocols at the student\, staff\, classroom\, and syst
 ems levels.
