DescriptionTransform your data into action! Join us for a hands-on professional development session designed to streamline your literacy instruction and accelerate student growth. This workshop provides the essential tools and knowledge to navigate the DIBELS 8th Edition framework and the mCLASS platform with confidence.
Why Now? NDE has identified DIBELS 8th Edition as the single statewide reading screener to ensure consistent outcomes for all K-3 students. To support this transition, the state has established the following implementation timeline:
2026-2027 School Year: Districts are strongly encouraged to implement the screener during this "hold harmless" transition year.
2027-2028 School Year: Full implementation of DIBELS 8th Edition is required for all Nebraska public schools.
This session focuses on practical application and data-driven decision-making. By the conclusion of the workshop, you will be able to:
1) Understand the "Why": Explain how DIBELS 8th Edition targets the core early literacy skills necessary for developing proficient readers.
2) Master the "How": Build fluency in administering and scoring mCLASS assessment measures with precision, ensuring adherence to standardized guidelines.
3) Analyze the Data: Move beyond the scores to interpret student data and pinpoint specific instructional needs for your classroom.
4) Plan with Purpose: Navigate the mCLASS library of targeted, skills-focused lessons to design effective, differentiated instruction for every learner.
